To examine how voice control technologies could be implemented in cars, we could compare it with the development of automotive sound equipment. Since the first car radio, we’ve regularly increased the presence of speakers in our cars. In the extreme case of car sound system competitions, people replace their back seats with speakers. Their goal is to have the highest Sound Pressure Level inside their car. The sound is so loud that it becomes highly distorted and beyond our ability to hear. If the best sound equipment is evaluated on its loudness, what would define car voice control accuracy? Will microphones invade our cars?
